The full nine yards. = All the way.


一から十まで。とことんやる。


When I teach, I go the full nine yards.


Another example:

I want you guys to go out and go the full nine yards.

The whole nine yards. と言う表現もあります。

Origin

The full nine yards was used by American World War Two pilots. They would load their planes with 27 ft. Belts of 50cal. Machine gun bullets. (3ft. equals 1yard. 27ft. equals nine yards. 

If they fired the whole belt, they would brag, "I fired the whole nine yards!"
